Apple’s back-to-school discounts include free AirPods and 20% off AppleCare+

Students can buy select Mac and iPad models to receive a set of AirPods for free as well as the opportunity to get 20% off AppleCare+.

Apple rarely, if ever, offers discounts on its products, so instead, it incentivizes purchases with free headphones. In years past, Apple has differentiated which headphones you get based on the model purchased, but in 2021 you’ll receive AirPods no matter the device.

Apple already offers education pricing on most of its products year round, so the annual back to school sale focuses on other incentives. The following devices will be eligible for 20% off AppleCare+ and a free set of AirPods at purchase.

The free AirPods are only eligible for one qualified purchase per customer. New and existing students and faculty can take advantage of the education discount and promotion offer “while supplies last.”

The AppleCare+ discount only applies to the purchased product involved in the back-to-school promotion. Also, customers must purchase the plan during the promotional period to receive the 20% discount.

Customers may compound their potential savings using the Apple Card 3% cashback, monthly installments, and the trade-in program. Apple’s back-to-school student discounts are available now and usually stay available through the summer.
